Today I Learned - CMM Manager - Feature Creation from Curve

In CMM Manager you can create constructed features from measured curves. You first must know how to create a cross section. If you not are not familiar with that step please contact me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I can walk you through it.

Create your cross sectioned curve.

Now you can now create your new feature by following these steps.

Click on Construct / Point

Select Points From Cloud

Pick or drag the cloud into the Cloud input. Ours is Cloud1

Click on Select All and Apply to All. This will create individual points along the Curve. The amount of points were defined in your Curve creation.

Each point is listed in the Feature list prefixed by the Cloud1 and the the point name

Now go to BestFit and select Best Fit Feature

When this dialog opens select the feature type to construct. In our example we will create circle. Now pick or drag the points that will make up the circle.

Click on Advanced Options to change the construct algorithm for the circle or filtering.

Our circle is now created and can be reported or used as a normal measured circle.
